Vanity Plate of the Day… not actually daily, but whenever I encounter one in the wild that I think worth sharing and there are not too many in sequence. When I was commuting from my home to downtown St. Louis and back, I was spending anywhere from an hour and half to two hours daily in rush hour traffic. I used the exercise of deciphering vanity plates to help pass the time… plus sometimes they are very clever and worth sharing.
Okay, this plate was on the back of new, black Audi. I am not sure what state as all of the plate except the 47C5UME was covered up by the license plate holder. I knew it was not Missouri or Illinois, so I randomly picked California as it comes up first on my list of possible states on the little app I use to generate these plates. Just as an aside, at one point, years ago, I could get the barest of glimpses of a license plate and tell you what state. All those years as a kid, traveling across country, playing license plate bingo had some value? Now there are so many specialty plates that I am frequently clueless.
I have been pondering for a day or so now trying to finger this one out. Frankly, I have not had a lot of luck. I suppose this could be a standard plate from whatever state the car was actually licensed in. Looking up the format of a standard California plate it is 7 characters that include 3 numbers and 4 letters with no break between characters. So this fits.
I have been trying to make something out of this plate as it started with 47, a number that now refers to El puta pendejo naranja, Since 5s are sometimes used as Ss in this game, I was trying to make something out of that. Best I could come up with was 47 SCU ME or 47 EXCUSE ME. If the 5 and C had been reversed I would have read it as 47 SCUME.
I am beginning to believe it is just a standard plate.
