I am going to preface this article by saying I truly want to know that the answer is.
It is something I have pondered on, and I have a few theories. However, not being a religious person I am truly perplexed by the religious rights and evangelicals in particular support of the Donald J. Trump. It is something that I just cannot get my mind around.

I just finished 3 days of backpacking with my son and one of my brothers, Mike, in Arkansas. One of the things I have been doing for years after a hike in Arkansas, if I am anywhere near Jasper, Arkansas, is to treat myself to a meal at the Ozark Café. This particular café is more than a hundred years old, seems to be a favorite with the locals, and is written up frequently in the Arkansas Times. The food is almost invariably very good or better, the coffee is even more so, and the service is in the same category.
Jasper is not very big, the population is 440 souls. It is however, right on the Buffalo National River. In season the area is very popular for canoeing, backpacking, trout fishing, hunting and many types of outdoor activities. They reintroduced elk into the area a few decades ago and they are thriving there. While we only heard of a report of black bears from other hikers, we did see bear sign more than once. It is a fun area to hike with the scenery and wildlife.

This is just one example of many possible examples of how petty and low we have sank as a nation under the disaster masquerading as a human being, Gospodin Trump.
I needed some new light bulbs, but I required ones with a candelabra base for a ceiling fan 
light. This POS, this so called POTUS, for some unknown reason has rolled back the regulations mandating the use of energy saving light bulbs. When asked why, he had no explanation, but said a report was forthcoming. I am assuming some crony of his will benefit from the sale of old style light bulbs.
The only other reason that makes sense is that he is doing all he can to destroy the planet. I am clueless as to why anyone in this day and age will deny the reality of climate change. I believe the scientist on this one, but even if they are wrong, we still need to be hedging our bets just in case they are right.
I made damn sure I found the energy saving style of light bulb, and as I picked them up I thought, “Fuck you, Donald Trump!”
I was doing my Spanish lesson via Skype with the young man in Guatemala, Manolo Castillo. He is not big 
on talking politics which is fine by me. I need a break from being so angry about our current political situation. However, tonight he was telling me about a story he had read about DJT and he asked me “¿Tienes tú vergüenza de tu presidente?” Are you not ashamed/embarrassed of your president. All I could say was, “Claro que sí, mucho.” Of course, a lot.’
The whole damn world knows he is a nut case except for the rednecks in the red states of this fine country.

I was telling my wife something the other day that was true, but she was having a hard believing it to be so. After all a bit she said to me, “I suppose it could be true, after all if Trump is our president any absurdity is possible.”
Sadly I think the rock has more going for it than Gospodin Trump
This is one of the scariest things I have read in a while.
I’ve long wondered about Gospodin Trump’s attraction to “Christians”. To me he is the antithesis of all things Christian, he is the antithesis of all things democratic, he is the antithesis of all things moral…
Yet I know many folks who identify as Evangelical Christians and they will be quick to tell you the Gospodin Trump is a vehicle of change sent by God. That is typically the point where I excuse myself to go puke in the bathroom. While not a believer myself I do try to be sensitive to the religiosity of others, but their fanaticism about Gospodin Trump really makes wonder if this is deserved.

So I have been taking Spanish lessons via Italki using Skye for a while now. The other evening I was working with a young man from Guatemala. The subject of the dysfunctional man now pretending to be POTUS came up. He was telling me there is a very popular t-shirt in his country (and as it turns out through out the Latino world) that reads “Donald eres un pendejo“.
Just in case you are not up on your Mexican obscenities, pendejo is asshole.
Plus I would assume it is disrespectful to use the personal you when addressing a man of the supposed stature of Gospodin Trump.
Apparently the whole world, except redneck America, hates Donald Trump…go figure.
