Why Separation of Church and State IS SO VERY Important

Among all the scary s*** happening in this country and the world right now,  this ranks way up there.  Mike Huckabee is a true believer in the Armageddon / Second Coming of Christ fantasy.   I had not realized until now that El puta pendejo naranja had appointed this whacko as ambassador to Israel.  Truly the Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. of the State Department. His daughter, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, current governor of Arkansas, is every bit as crazy as he is.

I would give them their religious delusions if they were not trying to push them on the rest of us…. much to our detriment. IMHO, their world view is delusional and draconian. Maybe it is a little over the top, but given half a chance, these “true believers” would make the Spanish Inquisition look like a cake walk.

God save us from the religious.

What Would Jesus Say About Donald Trump?

I am not going to comment (much) on this video except to say it echos how I feel about the current state of Christianity in the United States of America.

What I always say about religion is that life is tough, whatever gets you through the day.  Of course, that is close to what I say about gender/sexuality identity.  Life is tough, whatever gets you through the night.  Of course, being religious is a choice.  Gender identity is not.

No Kings Protest / USS Carr Hat

As I have detailed elsewhere on this blog my mother’s brother,  my Uncle Paul, died heroically in the largest naval battle in history.  You can read about it here: Paul H. Carr inducted into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame. Besides being inducted into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame for his heroic action he had a missile frigate named after him, the USS Paul H. Carr, FFG-52.  There are several books of naval history that include his story.  Obviously, having a Navy ship named after a family member is a huge honor, and all the family is rightly very proud of it.  There is also a movement afoot to have one of the new class of missile frigates named after him.  Hopefully, that comes to past.

I have several USS Carr hats, a couple shirts, etc.  I wore them for years to honor my uncle.  A few years past I stopped wearing them as it had become very fashionable to thank veterans.  I became very tired of people coming up to me and thanking me for my service.  More than a few wanted to shake my hand, something I am not comfortable with in the best of circumstances.  Most importantly, I did not want Continue reading “No Kings Protest / USS Carr Hat”

Robert Reich: We Don’t Do Kings in America

I had a lighter posting queued up for today, but the world feels like it is spinning even more out of control thanks to the Idiot-in-Chief aka El puta pendejo naranja.

Robert Reich is my type of crusader.

Do your part – PROTEST!

What blows me away is that there are still folks out there happy that they voted for this incompetent,  arguably mentally unhinged monster. This is an America I thought I would never see.

Various sources are estimating that the military parade will cost $45 million.  Street repairs afterwards are estimated to cost $16 million. Whether that last amount is included in the $45 million I do not know.  This at a time when the Republicans are hell bent on cutting services and benefits to the most needy among us, being the good Christians that they are.

As a reminder here is the famous poem by Pastor Martin Niemöller:

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

Rev. Joe’s Random Thought #3,683

yeah I know you did not ask!

You should so be blessed – well cursed at times actually – with a mind such as mine, making all these weird connections between my rumored neurons. Just be thankful that I do not share all of my random thoughts.

I am still not imbibing news, at least consciously. I do follow my investments on Google’s Finance page which at the end of my watch list always has news stories related to those investments or to the market in general.   Today one headline read that tRump was threatening 50% tariffs against our good friends in Europe.

For some reason a picture of the orange orangutan currently occupying the White House came to mind.  In this picture he is sit squatting in the Asian manner inside a zoo cage.  He is busily flinging his turds at the various zoo visitors passing in front of his cage.  For reasons unclear, the zookeepers have removed the glass partition that would have kept his excrement on his side of the wall. His malodorous missiles were landing pell-mell, but damaging those among us in the most need. Maybe if he turned that Bible upright… nah.

Outside of making him and his contemptuous cronies even richer,  I am still trying to figure out what the problem is that he is trying to fix.  He is making America anything but Great.

While this posting, A Jack Handey Fable, is about addiction, I see MAGA’s devotion to El puta pendejo naranja in a similar vein.

And so it should not go.

Good Article: The world has a verdict on 100 days of Trump 2.0

From the article:

“But the lesson for Americans couldn’t be clearer, even at a moment when the domestic carnage inflicted by the Trump regime feels limitless and irreparable. To everyone else in the world, his first 100 days have been a flatulent self-own, and an unexpected boon for normie centrist politicians all over the democratic map who seemed, only months ago, to be facing Armageddon. Right-wing populists like Viktor Orbán and Marine Le Pen have begun to back away in embarrassment: Sorry, new phone. Donald who?”

Read the whole article here: The world has a verdict on 100 days of Trump 2.0: Wow, what a loser

No comments from me except that it is a good article worth the read.

Better If I Stayed Home

I am beginning to think it would be better for me not to go out of the house for the next four years.  If there were any power in prayer that four years would be much shorter, much much shorter.  Is it bad to pray to wake up the next morning and be able to read someone’s obituary?  Of course, I really do not believe in prayer power.  When I feel the urge to pray I interpret it as telling me that there is a problem I need to focus on or let go.

It is springtime and with that comes a few trips to the local Lowes, Home Depot, etc.  As I was walking into Lowes this Friday morning there was a middle-aged “gentleman” wearing a t-shirt that read “Trump Won“.  In all likelihood it was from the 2020 election cycle and the attempted coup of our democracy.

I saw that t-shirt and it was like a demon took over my body.  My face flushed with anger, the flight or fight response kicked in, mainly on the fight side.  Before I could catch myself (normally I just shake my head and try to ignore such ignorance), I found myself putting my right hand on his left shoulder and proclaiming, “most of us are sorry that fucking idiot won.”

His response, “I love this shirt.”

Fortunately I was able to control myself and not escalate the situation.  What nearly popped out was something along the lines of, “well that shirt does scream I have a  low IQ  or I lack critical thinking abilities.”

I am blaming it on the gummies.  The first week after the election I imbibed more marijuana that week than I had in the whole previous 40 years.  I have slowed down a little, but not much.  The one thing I ever had faith in or put my belief in was the United States of America.  Now El puto pendejo naranja and his gang of fascist thugs are busily dismantling this country.  There is no sane or logical reasons for what they are doing to my once beloved country and to the world to some extent.  I absolutely cannot stand reality right now.  Yeah RawDog2, I know THC does not make you violent, but it does relax inhibitions.

Pray for me.  Either I am going to end up in the hospital or in jail for battery after a confrontation of this type.

Keying Telsas – I stand corrected

In a previous post, As seen on the back of a Telsa, I stated while I had heard of Telsa dealerships being vandalized, I had not heard of individual cars being targeted. I stand corrected.

Folks are targeting individual’s Telsas: Man faces felony charge for vandalizing Tesla

While I would never do it, I have fantasized about spray painting a slogan or two on the nightmarish Telsa Cybertruck.  Has there ever been a more ill-conceived mass produced vehicle?

I would not buy a 100% electric car at this point as they do not fit my style of driving given their current range and long charge times.  And if I did it would not be a Telsa.  I decided several years Continue reading “Keying Telsas – I stand corrected”

Google Kowtowing to the Idiocracy

Screw Google and screw those idiots occupying the White House.  This the GULF OF MEXICO.  It is not the Gulf of America.  I am surprised El puto pendejo naranja  did not name it the Gulf of Trump.

I am so embarrassed to be a citizen of this country with such a person occupying the presidency.  I have been wanting to call this administration The Gang That Could Not Shoot Straight, but that would be a compliment for them.

When will this nightmare end?

I complained to Google about this change and it would wonderful if a lot of other folks did too.  However, they do not make it easy to send them feedback.  I hunted around for 10 minutes before I figured out how.  And then there is the fact that they really do not care what I think.

Somebody Please Explain to Me

Somebody please explain to me why tArse, President Muskrat and the dysfunctional association formerly known as the Republican Party are hell bent on destroying the American economy, the social safety net, our relationship with the rest of the world, the climate, and on and on…

A  new day, and another day of a stock market meltdown.

A  new day, and another day of other countries responding to this unfathomable trade war.

A  new day, and another day of praising dictators and disparaging anyone not genuflecting to his Royal Assness.

Someone please enlightened me.  Try as I might, none of this makes a lick of sense to me that this clown alley of misanthropic, malevolent misfits are attempting to accomplish.
