This country has more problems than a monkey on a rock, but to my way of thinking, this is one of the biggest, the out of control, growing wealth gap. The issue is explained very clearly by one of my favorite “pundits”, Robert Reich. America has never been a very fair country, but it is certainly the goal we should be aiming for.

What blows me away is that there are still folks out there happy that they voted for this incompetent, arguably mentally unhinged monster. This is an America I thought I would never see.
Various sources are estimating that the military parade will cost $45 million. Street repairs afterwards are estimated to cost $16 million. Whether that last amount is included in the $45 million I do not know. This at a time when the Republicans are hell bent on cutting services and benefits to the most needy among us, being the good Christians that they are.

IMHO, it is a very clear choice this election cycle, fascism and theocracy with tRump and Vance, or two genuinely good folks in Harris and Walz whom are running for office with service in mind as opposed to tRump’s need to self-aggrandize. And then there is Vance, ambition for ambition’s sake and a need to force his Draconian wrong-headed values on the rest of us.

“William Meaney, the CEO of Iron Mountain (a data storage and management company with a current market capitalization of $12 billion) told Wall Street analysts in late September, high levels of inflation helped the company increase its margins — and that for that reason he had long been “doing my inflation dance praying for inflation.” A few years before, Meaney explained “I pray for inflation every day I come to work because … our top line is really driven by inflation. … Every point of inflation expands our margins.”
While the rest of us stand in the supermarket aisle gasping for breath at the price of food… among other places and other things.

Last week it was reported that in 2017 the average CEO of the 350 largest firms in the U.S. received $18.9 million in compensation. That’s a 17.6 percent increase over 2016.
At the same time, the typical worker’s compensation remained flat, rising merely 0.3 percent.
The first Gilded Age fueled a progressive era that tamed and regulated its excesses, beginning in 1901.
