Word of the Day – Snollygoster

Word of the Day… not actually daily, but whenever I encounter one I think worth sharing and there are not too many on my landing page.  Words have always fascinated me, and I am a fan of all types of word play, especially puns.  I have a hard time not looking up a word that I am unfamiliar with or not sure of the definition. I like those authors that stretch me by throwing in unexpected terms.   

  • Noun: Snollygoster
    1. a shrewd, unprincipled person, especially a politician – US dialect.
  • Synonyms:
    1. Machiavellian
    2. opportunist
    3. knave
    4. And many more… Synonyms for Snollygoster
  • Encountered: While watching an offering from Great Courses Plus , one on vocabulary, go figure.
  • Usage: Well not usage, but my thoughts on the word.  When I first heard the definition I immediately thought of El puta pendejo naranja currently stinking up the Oval Office. I began playing with how the word sounded as I pronounced it.  On its own it changed from snollygoster to Snollygoster-in-Chief. For a brief moment I thought it a good euphemism for President Baldy Locks, but I then thought it sounded much too cute for that, like a character in a Dr. Seuss book. However, there is no way his heart will ever grow three sizes in one day.  In fact it seems to be shrinking more and more with each new day, almost as fast as his cognitive decline.

ELUMP – Some Ramblings


Okay I am once again a Johnny-come-lately. This time it is to the awareness that the bromance of Elon Musk and tRump had been labeled Elump by the popular press.  I became cognizant of the moniker scrolling through YouTube when a video of Bill Maher’s popped up addressing the subject. I am not as big a Bill Maher fan as I used to be as he has become so self-righteous as to be almost unwatchable, but this video grabbed my attention.

A real bromance?

First, it was a bromance? I do not believe that either of them have any real friends.  A real friend being someone you might call if your car broke down on the side of the rode and you needed a ride home. Would  either of them do so without asking for gas money? Or perhaps you can identify friends  ala the popular test, “the two beers and watch my dogs” type of person. Keying Telsas – I stand corrected

In a previous post, As seen on the back of a Telsa, I stated while I had heard of Telsa dealerships being vandalized, I had not heard of individual cars being targeted. I stand corrected.

While I would never do it, I have fantasized about spray painting a slogan or two on the nightmarish Telsa Cybertruck.  Has there ever been a more ill-conceived mass produced vehicle?

  • Encountered:
    1.  Okay, this has been niggling at the back of my mind for a while, so I finally looked it up.  I knew I had read this word somewhere, history being one of my prime non-occupational interest.  I am sure the POS that is Elon Musk (who probably dreamed up this name) is well aware of the double entendre. I doubt tAss has a inkling as it is doubtful he reads beyond the fifth grade level. I am clueless as to why this man is part of the government except, as impossible as it seems, tAss is the  biggest whore in his circle, a circle full of the worst possible excuses for Homo sapiens imaginable. I sometimes think that they must be blackmailing El puto pendejo naranja, except he has no shame.

I just need to get me some more gummies and go back to ignoring the demise of my once beloved country, to pretending this is really not happening.

Just something to think about as you getting ready to vote in what seems like the most consequential election of my lifetime. I see this election as clear option between democracy and fascism, between inclusiveness and Christian Sharia law, between joy and a Draconian world view, between sanity and insanity, between the have-too-muches and the rest of us…

If nothing else you have to wonder why Elon Musk is pouring so much money into the tRump campaign. Musk is the epitome of self-interest, seeing himself better and smarter than practically every other person on the planet, willing to use and abuse just about anyone for his own ends.  Wait, that describes tRump also.

Dear Elon Musk

I only infrequently post “memes”, but I really like this one!  I don’t quite understand why THE MEDIA spends so much time on the utterances of billionaires such of Elon Musk.  They generally do not add anything positive to our political or economic discussions. So many of them seem to think they are geniuses in all areas since they managed to make a boat load of money…one way or the other.
